Project Overview
Completed in 2025, the Hamilton Elementary and Early Childhood Center playground in Kentwood, Michigan, was designed with one goal in mind: getting kids outside, moving, and playing more. The school envisioned a large-scale outdoor space that would encourage physical activity, spark creativity, and offer a wide variety of play experiences for children of different ages and abilities.
Sinclair Recreation helped bring that vision to life with an expansive playground featuring multiple play structures, freestanding equipment, and interactive elements designed for ages 2–5 and 5–12. From climbing structures, rock walls, net climbers, and a ninja-style obstacle course to a zipline, swings, spinning equipment, and a custom basketball wall, the playground offers endless opportunities for active play and adventure.
Sensory and imaginative play are equally important, with musical elements, a playhouse, spring riders, and other interactive features that encourage exploration, creativity, and social interaction. By combining challenging physical activities with engaging sensory experiences and age-appropriate play areas, the finished playground creates an exciting outdoor environment where children can build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy being kids.
